If you are unfamiliar with Windows 10 on ARM, it offers the best of PC computing with mobile. On Always Connected PCs, that means huge battery life and portability. On a mobile device, Windows 10 for ARM would allow a smartphone to run a full PC platform. Now Windows 10 ARM for Lumia 950 handsets is getting serious. Developers have made a major breakthrough that changes the project from experimental to fully usable. Yes, I am talking about cellular activity. Until now, Windows 10 RM for Lumia 950 blocked cellular activity, making the device almost pointless. That block has now been broken judging by a tweet from one of the developers.

Future for Lumia
Of course, Microsoft no longer supports the Lumia handsets. Two years ago, the company decided to stop all feature updates for Windows 10 Mobile. In January, the company said Windows 10 Mobile will kill off the platform this December. That means even security updates will stop. Windows 10 ARM is supported though so if a fully functional and safe version can be made available, the Lumia 950/950 XL family can live on. If you have on of those smartphones lying around, fire it up and head to the Installer at GitHub here.
