Under previous generations that received an LTE variant, the device typically followed several months after the standard version. This time, Microsoft is remaining quite on releasing an LTE version of the Pro 7. In a statement, the company said the following: “As always, we will continue to listen to our customers and bring products to market based on their feedback. We have nothing more to share regarding LTE in our product line at this time.” Sure, that’s not a complete shut down of the idea of a Surface Pro 7. However, it seems Microsoft is not putting it at the forefront of its plans. That perhaps makes sense considering the busy Surface lineup the company now has. The Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro X, and Surface Earbuds are arriving soon alongside the Pro 7. Microsoft has also scheduled its Surface Neo and Surface Duo devices for a 2020 launch. Furthermore, the company still has the Surface Studio 2 and Surface Book 2 in the wild. That’s a busy hardware slate, so perhaps the company will not release an LTE version of the Pro 7. Surface Pro 7 is more of an incremental update over last year’s sixth generation and not a major overhaul. However, Microsoft has bumped the device in line with modern up-to-date technology. the Surface Pro 7 runs Intel’s 10th-gen Ice Lake CPUs. The biggest addition to the Surface Pro line was the addition of a USB-C port, something many users have wanted Microsoft to introduce for years.
