In a recent blog post, the company laid down several features and improvements it’s bringing to care teams, but the stand out addition is in Microsoft 365. In the coming weeks, care teams will be able to “schedule, manage, and conduct virtual visits” via Teams video calling. With doctors increasingly encouraged to assess coronavirus patients remotely, this doesn’t seem like a coincidence. In a blog post, Microsoft says it developed Threat & Vulnerability Management through previews with customers for over a year. Using feedback, the company says it better understands what organizations need for vulnerability management. TVM is integrated into Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). Backward compatibility was a welcome addition to the Xbox One. I meant users did not necessarily have to get rid of their old Xbox 360 games. However, when discussing this feature, it is always worth noting that only specific games are compatible. For the Xbox 360, the number of supported titles rolls into the hundreds. For the original Xbox backward compatibility, the starting number is more modest. We expect Microsoft will add to the amount available games as the months and years pass....

That feature update is the Windows 10 19H1 branch that is currently in preview through the Insider Program. Starting with the release of 19H1 next April, Microsoft will start to depreciate the People Bar. According to Albacore on Twitter, the company will not complete shutter the feature at once. Microsoft has announced the end date for Windows 10 1507 support – May 9th. If you’re still on 1507 after that you won’t receive any new security or quality updates. Here’s the official statement: “After May 9, 2017, Windows 10 devices running version 1507 will no longer receive security and quality updates. Microsoft recommends updating devices to the latest version of Windows 10 by visiting the Software Download site and selecting Update now to manually update your device....

From the launch of macOS Mojave, Office 365 and Office 2019 for Mac will support macOS 10.14, 10.13, and 10.12… the last three versions of the operating system. Microsoft says it is doing this to ensure the best user experience. Remember, cutting off support does not mean Office will stop working on older macOS builds. It does, however, mean that those older versions won’t have a support experience. That means no new features and no security update....

In an Azure blog post, Microsoft says “We have seen a 775 percent increase of our cloud services in regions that have enforced social distancing or shelter in place orders.” To help deal with the rise in users, Microsoft is making some tweaks to services to help them cope. Over the last two weeks, Microsoft has reported record user numbers for Xbox Live, Xbox Game Pass, Mixer, and Microsoft Teams....

Namely, Authenticator is now able to support fingerprints. This means users with a fingerprint scanner on their device can use the feature within the app. Microsoft has made this a default feature that cannot be turned on or off. Up until now, the OneDrive version history feature allowed users to only see and restore older versions of their Office documents. That changes thanks to this important, highly-requested update which brings support for all kinds of files. Microsoft has started rolling out the feature and will reach all users by the end of the summer. Moreover, the company explains that the OneDrive version history is only available online for the time being, and will keep older versions of files for 30 days....

While any update that changes something in the app is welcome, we will file this latest release under “minor”. That’s because the only thing Microsoft has changed is the position of the chat panel when making a call. If you’re a frequent Skype flyer, you will know the chat panel during calls has been on the left. This was fine but presented some interface limitations. Specifically, it prevented users from checking the lists of conversations at the same time as the chat for the call....

Subtasks in To-Do are called “Steps” but it is worth mentioning this feature is not yet available on Android. Steps is an options (displayed as “Add Step”) below the title when a new task is created. Users can create as many subtasks as they want. However, you should remember that marking all Steps as complete will not do the same to the main task. While Microsoft says this is among the most requested features, many other important tools are missing from To-Do....

Microsoft points out the current hotline scam is targeting both Apple and Microsoft users. The site the company is waring about does not use a dialogue pop up, but instead an audio message. In terms of Apple, the message reads: “Critical alert from Apple support. Your mac has alerted us that your system is infected with viruses, spywares, and pornwares. These viruses are sending your credit card details, Facebook logins, and personal emails to hackers remotely....

It appears, however, that the tribe isn’t the one pulling the strings. According to Reuters, the patents in question were previously owned by SRC Labs LLC before being assigned to the tribe in August. The idea is to use the Saint Regis Mohawk’s sovereign status to shield them from administrative review. The Patent Trial appeal board, which revokes patents, would naturally have a harder time of things.
