Microsoft Whiteboard gives users access to features such as collaborative inking, geometry recognition, table conversion, and automatic table shading. On top of that, Office 365 subscribers will get their hands on exclusive capabilities. In the announcement blog post, Microsoft reveals that the Whiteboard app is currently available in private preview on Surface Hub devices, and to education customers. Additionally, the company says the app will come to Windows 10 later this year.
Improvements to inking technology
In addition to the app, Microsoft announces further improvements to inking technology in the announcement blog post. Thanks to the new Surface Pen, which has 4.096 pressure points and a new tilt functionality, your ink adjusts to each user’s touch.
Of course, the ink flows even more smoothly and effortlessly when you use the new Surface Pen in Office apps. Microsoft notes that thanks to the latest Surface Pen and the new inking technology, users will experience almost zero latency between their writing and the pen. Meanwhile, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will have more ink options thanks to the latest update to inking technology. New pencil texture and ink effects like rainbow, galaxy, lava, ocean, and more, are now available to users. For the complete changelog, check Microsoft’s blog post.
